Levine Keszler advises Skybound Entertainment on its acquisition of a minority stake in Scenario42 (formerly 247 Max)
Skybound Entertainment, the American production studio behind ‘The Walking Dead,’ has made a minority investment and entered into a strategic partnership with French audiovisual production studio Scenario42, formerly known as 247 Max.
The announcement comes a week after Skybound entered the Japanese market, marking a new stage in the international expansion of the company led by Robert Kirkman and David Alpert.
Scenario42 produced the series Polar Park, which aired last month on Arte. Upcoming productions include ‘L’Anomalie,’ winner of the 2020 Prix Goncourt, written by Hervé Le Tellier and adapted for television by filmmaker Antonin Baudry; the artistic thriller ‘Genius,’ co-produced with Laurence Fishburne’s Cinema Gypsy Productions; and ‘L’Enchanteur,’ a prestigious French-language TV movie.
Médéric Albouy launched 247 Max in 2019 with Oscar-nominated producers Xavier Rigault and Marc-Antoine Robert from sister company 247 Films. Former head of fiction co-productions at France Télévisions, Médéric Albouy is at the helm of this new venture.
Scenario42 is the first French studio to receive support from Skybound, which also holds a majority stake in Nordic company Sagafilm and game financing company 5th Planet Games.
Levine Keszler’s team was led by Benjamin Briand, with Pierre Treille, Rostane Charif (Corporate), Aude Manzo-Keszler and Anne-Sophie Guilbaud (Financing).
