Mathieu Blanchard, the famous French ultra-trail runner, joins St\u00e9phane Diagana, world athletics champion, and Thierry Omeyer, double Olympic handball champion, who are already shareholders in Finishers, by also acquiring a stake in the company, demonstrating the interest of athletes in the sector in the start-up.<\/p>\n<p>This funding round aims to accelerate the company&#8217;s growth in three main areas: product development (for organisers and runners), the integration of new outdoor disciplines (triathlon, cycling, swimming, etc.), and international development.<\/p>\n<p>Finishers was founded and is based in Lyon. Launched in June 2021 by Benoit Grassigny, Hugo Charrier and Arnaud Didry, Finishers is the first SaaS-enabled marketplace for outdoor sports events in France. It meets the needs of participants who want to easily search for, compare and book race bibs and products\/services related to races, and organisers who want to increase their event revenue via a SaaS platform.
