Levine Keszler strengthens its Venture Capital and Financing practice with the arrival of Benjamin Briand as partner

The business law firm Levine Keszler is expanding its Venture Capital practice and strengthening its Financing expertise by welcoming Benjamin Briand as a partner.

With several years of experience at McDermott Will & Emery, followed by the creation of his own firm, Benjamin has dual expertise in Venture Capital and Financing.

He advises French and international clients, including entrepreneurs and investors (VC funds, accelerators, business angels), on venture capital transactions involving the creation, fundraising, profit-sharing and sale of innovative companies.

He also advises private debt funds and borrowers on financing (LBOs, real estate, venture debt). He has developed particular expertise in real estate financing transactions carried out by crowdfunding players.

Benjamin’s arrival is part of Levine Keszler’s strategy to confirm its position as a key player in the French independent law firm market and to offer an alternative to the established firms in the market.

Admitted to the Paris Bar in 2016, Benjamin is a graduate of the Sciences Po Law School (2013) and holds an M2 in Financial Law from Paris 1 (2014), where he teaches a seminar every year.

‘We are delighted to welcome Benjamin. His arrival demonstrates the firm’s commitment to continued growth and our ability to attract promising talent. This addition strengthens our financing practice and adds a venture capital component to our corporate M&A/private equity practice,’ commented Aude Manzo-Keszler and Serge Levine, Founding Partners.

After working with Benjamin on numerous private equity transactions when we were at McDermott Will & Emery, I am delighted that he is joining our firm as a partner. We look forward to continuing this relationship and benefiting from his expertise in venture capital to expand our scope of services to our clients,’ said Nicolas de Courtivron, Private Equity Partner.

‘I am very proud of the trust placed in me by the partners at Levine Keszler, which is positioned as a key player among independent French law firms. Being backed by a recognised firm with which I share an entrepreneurial vision will enable me to offer my clients comprehensive support and high-quality services,’ said Benjamin Briand, Partner.
